Great experience working with Rainbow Tree Care. The City of Woodbury contracted with Rainbow to offer Woodbury residents a discount on treating ash trees for the Emerald Ash Borer. Good choice! "Charles," the arborist, originally came out and looked at all the trees because we were also interested in some trimming. Such a nice guy and he really knew his trees. We received a quote within one day, detailed as to exactly what they would be doing and a map of our yard with the exact trees that would be worked on.The office at Rainbow kept in touch, letting us know about when we would be scheduled, and then a specific date and time. The crew came out and trimmed our trees. Great guys! Then a crew came out and picked up all the branches with a special machine.Lastly, we were informed that the technician to treat the ash trees would be out in the next few days, which also happened. Every aspect of working with Rainbow Tree Care was pleasant. The prices were reasonable and we really appreciated the City of Woodbury recommending such a great company. We will continue to call them for any lawn needs we have, and have already recommended them to others in the community.

The 3 people who trimmed our trees at our property in Prior Lake today were outstanding! They worked hard and steadily for hours and cleaned up afterward. They arrived wearing masks until they started working in the trees. They left our trees with healthy growth and opening up our view of the lake. THANK YOU!!

Amazing, professional service. We had a weird situation where the day they were coming to trim our trees, one of our trees fell down. This tree was not scheduled to be cut down so they didn't have the team ready to haul a tree away. They worked with me and our arborist went above and beyond for us to help get the tree cut up and moved out of or neighbors lawn. Would highly recommend. They are so professional and understanding.

Wonderful service! Our tree looks beautiful, it’s niceto have professionals do such a hard job in such cold temperatures. A very polite three person team started at 8 in the morning at a freezing 1° above zero.I certainly would never of done that, so kudos to your team, everything was all cleaned up and taken away in three hours. I highly recommend your company to everyone needing tree care pruning services.

I asked Rainbow to prune a Crabtree that I had in my backyard. First they had an arborist visit and look at what I had and get my feedback for what I was looking for in the pruning.The crew arrived today with "Q" taking the lead. there were 2 others, I think one of their names was Trent. These were wonderful, customer oriented tree trimming professionals. who did a fabulous job and my tree is beautiful.thank you Rainbow!!

I've been receiving services from Rainbow Treecare the last few years. Generally it's a little more expensive than average but they’re very professional so definitely “you get what you pay for”. They clean up well when they leave. They also have email reminder and summary report which makes it easy to track. But the last exp erience was less than perfect. I gave them my feedback and they addressed it right away. No arguing/debating, more of a how can we make you a satisfied customer? Which I truly appreciate.

Easiest company to work with for tree care. They gave great advise and were very responsive. I have a willow tree that looks 10 time better after they pruned it and they were able to treat an ash tree of mine. Would recommend calling them for any tree needs!

We had several of our trees trimmed today, and what a wonderful job Rainbow did.It all started with a consultation with their Arborist, Jesse Belter. And he even came over this morning to give the details of the job to the crew.Mariah, Aaron, and Evan made a great team and worked together to make the work go efficiently. They were good communicators and were quick to offer suggestions and advice on how to make our property look its best. The Trees in our yard now look great.And what blew me away was how meticulous they were about cleaning up. Our yard never looked so good.Great job Rainbow !!

We had a dangerous tree that had to be removed. The tree trimming department came within a week and cut enough to make the tree stable until Jesse (our arborist) could help us make the final plans for removal. The removal itself was done smoothly and with the same cleanup we have come to expect from Rainbow.We chose to wait until spring to have the stump removed and were contacted by the scheduler to find the most convenient time for us and the company. On removal day, Cole arrived on time and spent almost 4 hours carefully grinding the stump down and smoothing the site. He was very careful to protect our other plants and our sprinkler system.We could not be happier with the entire process and will make Rainbow our first (and likely our only) call when we have any other tree issues.

Rainbow sent out their arborist to evaluate our Ginko. I was impressed by her depth of knowledge, her broader consideration for the neighborhood and environment of the Ginko and how she presented options clearly with risks and benefits. I don't remember her name but I will remember Rainbow for my tree work.

I signed up for a free consultation about treating an ash tree in my yard, and while he was at it Nick happily walked the property with me to answer questions about other trees. Edit: I didn't use Rainbow's services, but I'm editing what was a negative review to become a positive one. I had an unsavory experience with customer service, but received a call from the owner within minutes expressing that he'd listened to the call and agreed that there's a big coaching opportunity available for the employee in question, and that had he been in my shoes he would have been significantly put off as well. I appreciate the responsiveness and the desire to do good business!

These fellas were professional, timely, respectful of our lawn & property, thorough, and - my favorite part - genuinely seemed to be having a good time at their job. (the tree trimmers looked like climbers & we're swinging/hanging/moving around like professional rock climbers who knew their equipment and capabilities well). What a difference that makes. They have my repeat business.

Very professional crew that took down a large ash tree. They knew what they were doing and did it very well. The damage to the lawn was at a minimum- branch by branch was lowered. Would definitely use Rainbow tree service when needed.

Charles Kastern , an arborist for Rainbow Treecare, offered a combination of astute tree knowledge and a sincere caring and compassion about our property and us as customers . We were facing both root and pest issues with our 11 spruce trees. Our trees were an investment due to how large and mature they were at planting and very important to us to provide us privacy. The trees had been planted to deeply by the builder’s landscaping company and the issue was the roots were not thriving and lower branches were growing into the soil. We also had a new tree mite issue this past year that further compromise the health of our trees . Charles offered a solid plan for all the issuers at a reasonable cost .Due to our crazy summer schedule we had to reschedule service twice and he was more then flexible with phone calls back to us and rescheduling with his team conducting the service . I honestly felt as though we were family to him regarding how much he cared. We would highly recommend Charles Kastern and Rainbow Tree care for any of your tree related issues . They have been amazing and our trees are looking great .

Rainbow removed a tree and ground the stump for me. The service and personnel were very professional and efficient. Cleanup was excellent, especially for the grinding (Thank you, Reggie!). There was nothing left on the lawn or street. They even fluffed up the lawn with a blower, where machines had flattened the grass. Excellent!

Have used Rainbow for tree removal and pruning four times, including for a very large and complicated basswood tree that’s close to our house. Rainbow has been able to preserve this tree over 10 years on a 3-year pruning schedule. Excellent service, skilled and experienced teams that know what they’re doing.

We had a crew ( Hannah, Jack, Ally and Jeff, led by Paul) who treated our elm trees to prevent Dutch Elm disease. They arrived on time, wore masks (because of Covid 19), and worked non stop. Paul kept us in the loop each step of the way. You couldn’t ask for better service. We have our elm trees treated, as recommended, every three years. Rainbow crews are always a pleasure to work with.

Rainbow Treecare did an outstanding job for me recently in taking care of a tree in my back yard that had split and dropped half of the treetop into my yard and onto my neighbor's power, phone and cable lines. Once Xcel Energy had removed branches that touched the electric lines, Rainbow made a point of getting out to take care of all the rest of the damage right away. My tree and yard posed interesting, almost overwhelming, challenges, both in terms of working around all the wires involved, ease of access, and disposing of all debris after trimming the tree as much as it needed. Kudos to the arborist, Russell Kennedy, who worked diligently with me to make this all happen and to the crew, who worked very hard and very creatively to take care of all the obstacles presented by this project. Work was all done well with no additional damage to my or the neighbor's property and everything was cleaned up the way I wanted before they left. Very happy to work with a company and crews that are so responsive, helpful and devoted to providing excellent service. Will definitely use them again for other work.

Received many bids on a tree we had bolted together. Wild ride of pricing. Rainbow was able to work with us and our neighbors to have their power turned off for the day-something we didn't think about- in order to take the tree down. They were awesome. Our arborist, Sarah Burgess, is super knowledgable, patient and understanding. She gave us lots of insights about our (very small) forest area, and the Minnetonka area in general as it relates to trees. She gave us the knowledge and confidence to think about trees long term. We also had a budget to work within and she helped us figure out the best approach.The team that came to do the work was polite, happy to explain their approach, and left the yard better than they found it. We'll be bringing Rainbow back for future trimming, disease prevention and removals.

Would highly recommend! Team was very responsive from quoting tree trimming, responding to questions and getting a quote together. Team who cut down trees was super safe and followed through on quote exactly. Cleaned all trimming including raking up all leaves/branches and hauled away it all very quickly. Cut down two large Elms in front yard that were dying. Had both down and hauled away while I was at work. Stump removal was about a month later. I talked with the worker, Reggie. He was very nice and enthusiastic for his job. It was hot and humid that day. He put wood between the machinery and grass to protect it. He described what he was doing and the procedure. He explained the aftercare and how to start growing grass. Hopefully you get Reggie. Cleaned up very nice as well.

Rainbow Tree Care did a fabulous job removing the large tree limb from my garage which happened as a result of a snow storm. Once again, Rainbow Treecare sets a high bar and then delivers service above the raised bar. Their crew was out today to trim a large tree in our backyard (Uptown zone) and when they completed the project, our yard was cleaner than it was before they arrived. The crew is truly well schooled in customer service and Rainbow Treecare remains our go-to for any and all tree services. Rainbow is the best. Dan Bird replied right after a storm blew down a huge spruce. You can see the tree fell just past my neighbor's chimney. It took out large lilac bushes, too. Rainbow marked my utility lines before grinding the stump. (Other companies regularly omit this step.) We cut back the lilac, which will grow back, and laid sod. Thanks to Rainbow for quickly and professionally clearing out the mess for a reasonable fee!!!

The Rainbow crew did an excellent job cleaning up our yard. Since we had a black walnut tree go down, we invited an older gentleman who was interested in wood turning come over; the crew went out of their way to help him load several pieces of the trunk into his car. We had to have a tree removed over a sprinkler system. The worker did an excellent job of carefully removing the stump to not disturb or damage the pvc pipe. We are very happy with how this went.

I had several stumps removed that were close to my house. Reggie did an excellent job grinding them down quickly and neatly. One was loose enough in the dirt that he went ahead and pulled out the roots too so that was nice. He also cleaned up some of the weeds that were near the unwanted stumps which I appreciated. He is very friendly too! I'm glad I went with Rainbow Treecare. I liked the online proposal/acceptance/invoice system too.

We contracted with Rainbow to consult with us about our trees. Nick Kantola, one of their arborist, came to our home and provided recommendations. We were impressed with his expertise. He took the time to respond to all of our questions and advised us on how we could do some of the work. He also made several recommendations on what Rainbow could do for us along with the costs. We accepted all of his recommendations.A team from Rainbow came to our home today to complete all of their accepted recommendations for trimming our trees. We were highly impressed with the work that Andrew, Joseph, and John did. They were both professional and knowledgeable. The trees look much better now. This team also did a terrific job of cleaning up all the branches and leaves from our yard. We definitely recommend Rainbow Tree Care to others!

Our Virtual MN State Fair Education Booth!

Each year, Rainbow Treecare hosts a booth in the Education Building at the Minnesota State Fair. Our goal there is to educate the public about trees, the important benefits they provide, and how to care for them. We love the Fair because it allows us to answer your tree-related questions and discuss your tree problems, including threats such as the Emerald Ash Borer.

This year, we’re bringing the education booth to you virtually with 10 days of Tree Care on a Stick!

As arborist Jeff Hafner explains, “The first year we did the Fair, we didn’t know what to expect. Now we have people come back to our booth every year. They line up with pictures of the trees in their yard and save up their questions for us. It’s pretty amazing to see how much people care about their trees and want to talk about them.
We still want to hear from you! Based on the number of handouts and fans we give away, we have thousands of visitors stop by our booth each year. While we’re all going to miss the unique atmosphere and special traditions that come with visiting the Fair in person, this year you can skip the line and send us your questions to our Facebook page or our Rainbow Treecare State Fair web page!
