In 2008, Rainbow Treecare and its subsidiaries became an employee owned company. In the past decade, the industry trend has been for small to medium-sized tree companies to be acquired by larger national firms. Larger firms often place less focus on caring for trees and customers. This trend is in conflict with Rainbow Treecare's dedication to our customers and the trees of our urban forest. Because of this, we are proud to announce the transfer of ownership to the dedicated employees who will continue to live and work with passion and commitment to bettering our customer’s lives and our community through proper tree care.

Since 1976, Rainbow Treecare has developed into a model U.S. tree company with over 40 certified arborists on staff.

Rainbow Treecare was established as the Twin Cities premier tree service and health care company in 1976 when, using technology developed by the University of Minnesota, we set out to save the metro area elms from Dutch Elm Disease. Rainbow continues its commitment to protecting the urban forest. Branching out into a full service tree, shrub, and lawn health care company that spans the Minneapolis, St. Paul metro area and employs expert arborists to diagnose and treat everything from plant pathogens to insects to fertilization and more.

Rainbow uses education, research and scientific knowledge of arboriculture, turf physiology and soil, to provide quality landscape management solutions for the urban environment. At Rainbow Treecare we have more ISA Board-Certified Master Arborists on staff than any other tree care company in Minnesota, and all of our Consulting Arborists are Certified and college-degreed. Our field staff routinely participates in training and educational events in order to provide the best in quality workmanship. With our highly skilled employees and emphasis on natural, environmentally friendly products you can be sure your residential landscape will be safe for family and pets.

Our LawnCare division offers environmentally conscious customized fertilization and weed control for a flourishing, healthy lawn. Our turf specialists will come to your home and provide the appropriate lawn management program designed especially for your special landscape needs.
