I grew up in the great city of St. Louis Park during the 60’s and 70’s. I saw the largest elm trees on my block being cut down due to Dutch Elm disease. It has been a vivid image in my memory to this day! I guess you could say that I’ve had a growing interest in trees since I was about 10 years old. I graduated from the University of Minnesota, College of Forestry in 1984. From 1980 to 1985, I worked for the cities of St. Louis Park & Bloomington as a seasonal tree inspector. I’ve been dealing with urban tree issues like Dutch Elm disease and Oak Wilt for 25 years now. In the fall of 1986 I started working for Rainbow Treecare. A college friend of mine (named Jon) designed the new logo for Rainbow Tree Company and the era of “ Rainbow Treecare” was born. The company had three employees in October of 1986. The mission was a simple one back then: “Show the public what a professional Tree Care Company can look like”. To this day, my favorite thing to hear when I show up for an appointment is “you must be the Tree Guy”. Thanks for trusting me with your valued trees and landscaping.
