John LloydI have been a member of the Rainbow Treecare team since February 2007 when I was hired as the Director of Science and Quality.  I received my B.S. in Entomology from the University of Wyoming in 1990, my M.S. in Entomology & Urban Forestry at the University of Minnesota in 1993 and my Ph.D. from The Ohio State University in 2001.  As Director of Science, I work with our Consulting and Professional Arborists in identifying, researching and developing new products and procedures for maintaining the health of our clients' trees.  As Quality Director I am responsible for making sure all of our arborists are trained in the most current science-based tree care methods and continue to be the industry leaders in managing our urban forest.  Many of these educational programs are also available to members of the landscape and tree care profession through our Urban Forestry Institute.

I have been married to my wonder wife Laura for 18 years.  We have a daughter who is a Senior in High School a son in Junior High and twin 5-year old boys.  We also have five non-human children (2 border collies, 2 cats, and a tarantula).  We enjoy summer family time outdoors fishing and swimming in local lakes and biking and hiking on the many trails throughout the region.  We are also avid Minnesota Twins baseball and Minnesota Swarm lacrosse fans regardless of their current standings.
